So, a few times, we have come up with lists of driving and motorcycling places that MUST be drivne. Road that twist, turn, carve and have views like nothing else.
Conversly, there are also a few lists of must drive cars. Everyone needs to experiance the go-kart like reflexs of a well set up miata, the soft, creamy seats of a high end luxury car, and the torque for something with a rediculously oversized V8.
However, I have no yet seen one of these lists for bikes. So here we are. I’ll be doing 1 post each, with a little story on my experiance. let me know if you have your own fun story with it and share it wil me (and oppo) in the comments!

Being cruiser biased I would say that every motorcycle rider needs to ride a Harley at least once. I have no expectations of changing anyone’s opinions on them, but to really know what they’re about a person needs to spend some time on one . In a broader sense every motorcycle rider needs to ride a large displacement V-twin. High power high revving bikes are one thing, but having large amounts of power from idle to redline is a whole different thing and incredibly fun.
I think everyone needs to ride a full on touring bike as well. I always used to be a no bags, no windshield kind of guy, but the more I ride the more appealing a big touring bike becomes. I wouldn’t want to daily one, but damn would it make long bike trips easy.
As for my personal list of things I must ride: r aked out chopper, liter bike (45mph on a GXR1000 didn’t count), foot clutch/hand shift Harley or Indian, 2 stroke street bike, Honda VF750F Interceptor, plus more I can’t think of right off hand.
As for places, I won’t go as far as to suggest everyone needs to visit Sturgis once in their life, but I had a lot more fun than I expected when I went and I highly recommend it. The Black Hills of South Dakota are worth a visit as well, not all that different from other mountainous areas, but still really cool.
